Bramshott Common Carpark North Side of A3
- Karen (9th Mar 2017 15:52:05)
Hi can anyone tell me who I should contact about the Youths that are frequently parking up in Bramshott Car Park for quite sometime, smoking, drinking playing very loud music and using the road as a racetrack.
When they leave they turf out all their rubbish around the car park. It really is disgusting and not fair on walkers, dog walkers, horse riders etc to come across this. I have cleared up the rubbish on occasions but it is not solving the problem.
I caught them again the other night and now have a reg number. I would like to report this but am not sure if it is a council issue or army ? Any help appreciated. Thank you.

I totally agree. It has become almost a daily occurance recently and the rubbish is getting worse.I too have got fed up with cleaning up after them and I choose to now park in the layby instead, as I find it so unpleasant parking in the car park when they are there. One of the number plates is really distinctive and I'm tempted to publicise it, but would prefer to know the proper way to report it. I am trying to record the other number plates (the blue car and the silver one ) but its difficult to do it without being obvious.

Which car park exactly are you referring to?

The car park that I have problems with is the one accessed via Rectory Lane from Bramshott, then left at the T junction ending in the car park to the common and to Waggoners wells. I presume we are talking about the same one judging from the description of the behaviour.

That's Military land and looked after by Landmarc.
Not entirely sure but expect it falls under LDTA (Longmoor Camps) area of responsibility.
Might be best to alert them to the problem?

As a 'regular' at that car park I do totally agree with the above comments and it leads me to wonder if the lady's wristwatch I found there last Saturday - which must be worth about £100 - might have been lost by one of the late night revellers that visit there?

The car park which you enter via Rectory Lane. They were there again last night, quite intimidating especially as I do walk my dogs in the dark and to come back into the carpark with them there staring at your, playing loud music and just generally being a nuisance. I will see if I can contact Landmarc something needs to be done. Thank you all for your reply to this and support in helping to get things done. Karen

OK I have now having gone all around the houses reported it to Hampshire Police so they are now aware of this problem. Originally reported to Landmarc but it has to be reported to police first. If anyone who uses that car park see this happening they have requested a call to them on 101 and if they have a unit in the area they will go down to the car park. Can only hope that a little police presence will stop them although it will only move to somewhere else. Everyone needs to take care they use the lane like a race track. Fingers crossed this gets better as I love the area for walking.

Damn these youths for wanting to spend time together, have a can and a couple of cheeky smokes every now again!!
Yes, you're right that littering is wrong and so is using the road as a 'race track', although this could be mistaken simply because they are driving a little faster than most of the old people that head up that way.
I can sympathise with these young people throughout Liphook and Bramshott. Meet up by the skate park - too many people in one place. Meet up at the amphitheatre on the green - no no no. Meet up around the side path of Sainsburys by the benches - far too intimidating for the community to handle.
Let's make sure they're kept safe and sound out of everyone's way at the Guiding/Scout hall from now on.

If you have registration numbers and regular times/days you see the anti-social behaviour it would be a good idea to ring 101 and report the nuisance to the Police.
If you feel threatened when you see them and they are polluting the area with noise and litter the police would likely take a drive by at that time, the more people that have witnessed the issue and report it the more likely something will be done.

Glad youths want to spend time together I am all for that and good they want to be out instead stuck on the sofa on their x-boxes. What I disagree with is the littering and unless you have been there you would have no idea of the amount of rubbish that is left. Condoms the works totally out of order, if they want to spend that sort of time together put a bin bag in the car and take the rubbish home with them. Not too much to ask is it? Driving a little faster than the oldies I am certainly no oldie and can drive as fast as the youths however I see the dangers of a single track road not only for other road users but for dog walkers, horse riders and general walkers and parents with their kids. Bramshott Common is a beautiful place to be but they should be more considerate.

I am a regular dog walker around this area, and have many times felt intimidated by the youth that surround it. I have recorded a number plate from one of my last walks, and would like to ask if a plate ending in "HE" is one that has been a nuisance to my fellow dog walking friends? They need a kick in the right direction and to take their drugs and litter elsewhere! Its a shame that us rightful dog walkers are being pushed away by reckless youth!

My first point I would like to make is that were you not young once ?
How the hell do you know they are doing drugs because you've already said you feel Intimidated by them , so unless your lying and you are in fact dealing them the drugs how do you get close enough to Know ?
They have as much right to be there as any of you as is it common land !!
They have to have somewhere to go & busy bodies like you make me laugh because you've got nothing better to do than write rubbish on here.
In regards to the rubbish I don't agree with that but maybe have you not thought it isn't their rubbish & infact belongs to the perverts that are up there I should imagine all hours of the night watching these young girls & boys ?
Leave these kids alone they don't harm anyone and people like you are wanna find something to do with your time .
Last point maybe campaign to get a litter bin from the council
If you've got nothing to do with your time !!!

Emma is of course entitled to a point of view but I have some responses -
The noise and intimidation is what is being complained about, if the people complained about are old enough to be driving about in cars, they are obviously receiving enough money to run that car then can afford to go into pubs clubs cinema etc.
Second point, it is not common land, it belongs to the MOD who have the right to decide who uses their land, they restrict the public use of their land to dog walkers and horse riders. It is army practice land. There are public footpaths and bridleways through the land for which the public have access. The car park is not District or Parish Council Land so they have no obligation to supply litter bins there.
Thirdly, an employee has to empty those bins at a high cost of driving all the way out there. Why should that employee put themselves at risk clearing up drug use needles and condoms?
Perverts may be there to watch young people at night getting up to all sorts in cars, but they may be young people in the same age group as you.
Take litter home with you put it in your mum's bin at home and let her empty it of drug needles. Intimidating people is not excused just because the perpetrator is young.

Emma. The reason we know that they are smoking drugs is that they are doing so in broad daylight in the afternoons with no attempt to hide it (and I'm not so stupid that I can't recognise when people are smoking weed) . In fact that's not the big problem. I'm happy for them to ruin their lungs etc if they choose to do so. The music is awful and spoils the peace but there's no accounting for taste. What is very obvious, is that it IS these lads who cause a lot of the litter problem. Typically I arrive to walk my dog, they are there standing around smoking, listening to 'music' and eating and drinking. By the time I return to my car they have gone but guess what? Those very same food packets and bottles are left strewn around where their cars were parked. It's the rubbish that I personally have the biggest problem with, although I can see why perhaps other walkers, especially the elderly, could find these gatherings quite intimidating.

You can smell the drugs from the edge of the carpark, they could at least smoke in the privacy of their own homes instead of intimidating the rightful people to be there! I agree with the previous post, that if these kids have the money to have and run a car they can find somewhere else, and learn to use a bin.

Thank you all that have supported this. Emma you are totally out of order and think you should keep your comments to yourself. They do smoke weed and I couldn't give a monkeys if that is what they want to do, but do it in their own home. One day they will come out of that car park as fast as they do could have an accident either along that road killing someone, horse, dog whatever or if they make it to the end enter onto the A3 as high as a kite and have an accident there. I don't have alot of time on my hands it took forever to get to the correct authorities as it is Army land but felt as a local this needed attention. It is comments like yours Emma that make me mad and that is all I am now going to say on the matter. I have reported it in the hope the litter is taken home and no accidents happen.
