Sainsbury's huge fuel price difference - Mary W (6th Sep 2010 - 16:47:40) Isn't is amazing the prices Sainsbury's charge in Portsmouth for fuel, compared to Liphook - all because there isn't any competition here. Sainsbury's branch at Farlington have 4-star for 110.9 and diesel 113.9. (Liphook 116.9 & 117.9) I'd have more respect for them as a company if they evened the prices out to give all their customers a fair crack of the whip. I am so cross, I boycott them wherever possible.

Re: Sainsbury's huge fuel price difference - Allan (6th Sep 2010 - 17:36:20) Hi Mary, Always the same where a monopoly is concerned, but what I find mind boggling is the level of local antipathy Sainsbury's seem to have built up in so many directions without doing anything to counteract it. It must cost them business at the end of the day.

Re: Sainsbury's huge fuel price difference - jo herridge (7th Sep 2010 - 13:47:23) only if i really need to do i put a few litres in at sainsburys liphook. i always fill up in portsmouth either sainsburys farlington or teso when i am there plus recently with the 5p a ltre off coupon ay sainsburys it works out even less

I suppose I resent there not being any real competition in the area.So many times I've been there and the shelves have been bereft of stock, the other day it was a real scrum with queues - yet three of the young fellows were standing around looking at them and chatting and having a laugh. They must have been young management staff, yet it didn't seem to occur to them to open up a till to give a hand to the ladies who were working as fast as they could. And all this having to check your own stuff out - it seems to take twice as long as before.

Re: Sainsbury's huge fuel price difference - Deadly (17th Sep 2010 - 18:56:13) Just been up to Scotland and unleaded is 110.9 up there - do they get a different fuel to us in the south then? Maybe they put the price down for the Popes visit as I suspect the 5litre popemobile needs regular refuelling.
