Coal Buckets
- Eneida (1st Sep 2010 - 19:47:18)
As we're now in September I'm thinking of getting ready for Winter...and I need a new coal bucket.
Does anybody know where I can buy a nice looking one, fairly locally, that actually does 'what is says on the tin'....ie robust enough to hold real coal and the bottom doesn't fall out after 3 years, even though it cost about £80 in the first place??

Hi Eneida
The Inwood Stoves on the square sells them. Always good to support your local businesses.

Hi
Why not try Liphook Hardware, Trevor seems to sell most things. If he has not got it in stock he will always order it for for.
Regards
Dee

That's a good idea Dee!!
I'll get David to have a word with Trevor...we get our coal from him anyway, so he's bound to know a 'proper' coal bucket when he sees one :D

Have you tried countrywide also, or coombers? I looked on amazon and there is quite a choice but I do not know what kind you are after

I picked up a gorgeous one at Country Market carboot a fortnight ago for £2.00!!! It was a bargain and was on the 'Help for Heroes' stall so everyone was a winner!

In the good old days, back in the 60's, you could have purchased a coal bucket (along with anything else you needed) at Coytes. My memories of Coytes (I left Liphook in 1966) is made up of Wellington Boots strung up round the room, the smell of paraffin and lots of Coytes around to help you find what you wanted.
