- William (4th Jan 2017 - 13:21:06)

Thanks
Bill

Bill
Wouldn't go anywhere near this lot if I was you.
Shoddy, unreliable and just wait until you try and get them on the phone!!!

Good luck
Brian

Brian, are you able to back up your claim with verifiable facts or are you just trolling? Once again talkback being used to rubbish someone's livelihood. Unlike check a trade and other proper review sites there is no accountability available here and anyone can throw their opinion online regardless of truth or facts. Dangerous and open to abuse!

Hi Bill,

Further to Brian's comments about Kingsbury Home Improvements Ltd - firstly we have not worked for any clients named Brian and all our work is based on the recommendations that we receive. My contact number is 07769356662 and would be more than happy to discuss in further detail with either of you, the work and services that we provide. To be honest I doubt very much "Brian"? will be in touch.

Kind regards,

Kevin Snuggs

Hi, I run a local building company and Kingsbury builders have a good reputation. I wouldn't go too much by unsubstantiated claims on here. Probably best to talk to some previous clients who can show you his work. Brian is probably a jealous neighbour!

- Dave mcgrath (5th Jan 2017 - 06:31:05)

good advice from chris, I have never heard a bad word said about Kingsbury builders, too much of this unqualified slagging off if you ask me!

Re: Kingsbury Builders
- Barbara (5th Jan 2017 - 10:55:17)

It could be a business rival who was critical on the other hand if i was asked for an opinion on the quality of work from someone I had used and i was not pleased with the quality I would say so, if only to prevent other people being unhappy after parting with a lot of money. Building work is not cheap.

- Editor (5th Jan 2017 - 11:10:24)

I can confirm that the original poster William (Bill) was using the same iphone / internet connection as the first reply, calling himself Brian and making derogatory remarks about Kingsbury Builders.

One can deduce that he was possibly a competitor and his remarks should be disregarded.

- Iwik61 (5th Jan 2017 - 11:15:06)

Sorry editor but surely you are responsible for this being on here in first place by not doing your research as you are the one who has the power to publish or not

I do not have the time to research every post made by everyone I'm afraid - this is not a job just a hobby site.

The alternative is a site like www.grayshott.com that requires all posts to be from registered members and is very 'sterile'.

Or FaceBook pages like Liphook Rants

Re: Kingsbury Builders
- Ian (5th Jan 2017 - 11:29:41)

Editor, is there a case therefore that Kingsbury can request from you details of the original poster so they can pursue a legal case for libel, defamation of business etc. Absolutely outrageous!

Data only available at the request of a court or Police, due to data protection act.

I think you did a splendid job, Mr Editor.

Re: Kingsbury Builders
- Ian (5th Jan 2017 - 12:50:15)

Ed, appreciate what you do and in many ways this is a good community site.

However the posts like this that lead to business reviews are open to abuse (I recall the florists recently suffering) so perhaps its best to have a blanket ban on any that can harm a business (and peoples livelihoods) where there is no verification process.

I relish freedom of speech but this is a clear case of that freedom being abused

Hear hear these contributions should be verified as to their origin as they can destroy people and businesses if someone has a grudge or personal gain.

Re: Kingsbury Builders
- Chris (5th Jan 2017 - 21:21:34)

As stated in my earlier post, Kingsbury are my competition as I run my own building company, however I rely , like Kingsbury on doing a good job and my next job is reliant on my last. Common sense prevails when employing a builder, get three quotes, look at previous work, don't just rely on verbal communication. Contrary to popular belief, most builders are reputable and do a good job. Make sure the builder has the correct public liability insurance covering all the trades required and the relevant height and depth restrictions.. The original comment could of been a rogue builder competitor but there is also such a thing as a rogue customer.

Re: Kingsbury Builders
- Jamie Soal (5th Jan 2017 - 21:53:26)

This is outrageous!! But hugely amusing at the same time!!

Do people not have anything better to do with their time!??

I can stand by the accreditations given for Kingsbury - they are a fair and friendly building company with a great working reputation to boot.

It's hard enough for local businesses to provide a top service and maintain a sustainable reputation without the input from these time wasting, character damaging individuals...

Has Bill or Brian got anything to input?....

As a genuine customer, I can vouch for Kingsbury's professionalism, quality of work and courtesy. Kevin and his team have just totally refurbished an outbuilding for me too from top to bottom and I am delighted with the result.

Nothing is too much trouble, they put the customer first, always helpful and don't overprice.

I can't recommend them highly enough.

Re: Kingsbury Builders
- Dawn Hoskins (7th Jan 2017 - 11:28:37)

Ah this reminds me of the bad old days when there was all those bad apples within the parish council and Liphook Herald! Throwing lies about like sweets at Halloween, fake ID's being used for phishing expeditions, people talking about defamation and libel. Ah - what memories!!

FYI anyone can take action against anything written about them on an on-line site. the laws on this are a bit wonky, but the steps are quite simple. 1. Get a Court Order for the site owner to give you the IP details of the poster. 2. track down original poster using IP details (lengthy and by no means easy as they don't always use their home PC and may have fake accounts). 3. Demand withdrawal of the offending post and an equally as prominent apology or article3 stating that it was untrue. 4. Issue defamation claim when they don't comply. This can only be done at the High Court, not the county court and will cost you thousands in pre-court costs which you will never see again. It will take up years of your life to see through to the end plus a lot of stress and money.

Alternatively, you can shrug it off, think of it as a compliment, and move on. A competitor wouldn't try to put you down unless you were good in the first place AND they are immoral in the second place. Tradesmen with no moral code don't last long, so either way - no real threat to a genuine trader with local connections, local recommendations and one who gets work by word of mouth trade from customers.

Happy New Year!!

p.s. The Editor of a site can in no way change/add/remove words or else he is contributing to the post. Also, the set position is innocence - not guilt. You can't examine (time consuming) the IP details of every contributor prior to publishing or the posts would take a week to appear and be out of date before they arrived. Also, bear in mind that this site is run, for free, by a man who already has a full-time job - and just does this as a service to the community. If 'knob-heads' as my son would call them, choose to be idiots - then they are only showing themselves up - not Liphook or Liphook Talkback.

Kev, I hope you have your day in court with this troll and make him regret his actions. You run a good company who employ and train people to the highest standards. Good luck mate

Unfortunately we live in the age of social media communication, and people feel empowered to be rude with impunity to complete strangers online, thinking they themselves are anonymised. It is sad that some people's natures are to be that vile in print, the only alternative is to register complete names and addresses with the webmaster so he can hold records, that is what they do on the Grayshott Forum.

Re: Kingsbury Builders
- Jay W (7th Jan 2017 - 23:02:52)

Looks to me like Kingsbury are having the last laugh on this thread, judging by the glowing reviews. Justice has been served.

I used to work for a firm who thought any publicity was better than none - not so sure I would agree, but each to his own.
