Overgrown Hedges!
- Sudha Rai (5th Aug 2010 - 08:48:10)

Hello,

Does anybody know who is responsible for keeping overgrown hedges trimmed and neat?

I have seen one area in Liphook, where the sign to the shops are covered almost completely and feel that the hedge ought to be trimmed back....but by whom?

It is the landowners/houseowners responsibility, You would have to find out who they are- usually if EHDC have given the approval for the signs to be installed they will have the information. Highways approval// EHDC planning permission is usually required for signs along the verges otherwise they could be deemed to be a danger to traffic.

Many thanks,Barbara.
I was referring to the sign that says Station and shopping area at the junction of Portsmouth Road and Station Road.
The hedge has almost covered the sign completely.
I will get in touch with EHDC and /or the owner of the property there.
Sudha.

Hi Sudha

I contacted EHDC about this a few years ago. It was done within a few days. Lets hope it is speedy again! Its the only sign we have for our area retail area in Liphook - nothing worse than not being able to see it!!

I contacted EHDC and they said they will sort it out.
