Lands End to John o Groats for the British Liver Trust
- Sallie Burrows (21st Jun 2010 - 17:14:22)

My eldest Son Matthew is currently walking from Lands End to John o Groats in memory of his Sister Zoe who sadly passed away in January and to raise much needed funds for the British Liver Trust. Matthew has today reached Brosley in Shropshire. Matt has encoutered so many nice people along the way who have given him much needed encouragement and been very generous with donations both monetary and in terms of accomodation. It is pleasing to know that in these times of economic strife the human spirit is not diminished. Matthew is on Twitter Mattjd86 and I have set up an online donation page Justgiving.com where people can search Zoe Burrows and then click on Matthews Page.

Hi Sallie,

I heard that Matt was doing this - What a great idea and fantastic way to raise some funds is there a way people can support Matt from Liphook by donating funds or leaving a good will message on facebook or something??

Im sure you must be very proud of him and that Zoe would most certainly think it was fab.

Natalie

Thank you. I am very proud of Matthew for taking on such a big challenge in Zoes memory. People along the walk have been so geneours and encouraging it restores your faith in human nature. Many of the places he has stayed have waived the bill and given him donations as well. Other times people have pulled over in their cars or approached him in shops to give money. In these tough economic times it is heart warming that people still behave so charitably.
