Signs announcing events
- Sharon (11th Jun 2010 - 14:13:13)

Hi. It has occurred to me (and probably many others) that all the various events that are held in Liphook all announce them on signs at various places on the roads into Liphook. Lots of different styles & sizes all tied to lamposts etc. Would it be good to have a permanent 'sign holder' where the different signs could be attached?

It could like very nice and welcoming into the village - perhaps with some lovely flower beds to increase Liphook in Bloom beauty.

I daresay it would have lots of highway agency hurdles & funding hurdles. But is it worth considering?

thanks for the idea the home made signs sometimes do look in competition with each other but in practice, I think in the summer there are too many competing events on the same weekend eg last weekend-producers market, libda bike ride and bramshott open gardens, there are also at least 5 main routes into Liphook which would need attending to. Theoretically the advertising signs for businesses need planning pemission from EHDC, so business owners might argue why should the event signs not need an application each time an event is publicsed in this way?
