Sports Pitch Development - Martin (11th Jun 2010 - 12:35:33) What good news that the Secretary for State for the Enviroment has approved the development of additional Sports facilities in Liphook. This is just what the village needs, and well done to the Parish Councill for all of their hard work in getting to this point. Martin

Re: Sports Pitch Development - kara (14th Jun 2010 - 13:39:18) will there be any play equipment for the children ? or how about a swimming pool ? Are only footballers and cricketers provided with sports facilites as i dont like either of them.

Myself and my friend Bonnie have been campaigning to get the current play area on the recreation ground on london road refurbished. Following an extensive campaign complete with petition followed by a survey which was very well responded to the parish council have responded. The play area request is currently out to tender from the parish council with all tenders to re-submitted in August when there will be a public forum on the subject. If you want your say this will be the time to come along and say so. the more feedback we can get the better we can do for the village. Hopefully we will end up with a fab new play park and a fab new sports ground. Personally i hope we can fit a swimming pool in too! Helen
