Anchor
- Jeremy Sharman (8th May 2010 - 19:25:42)

Just had tea, yet again in the Anchor, good food and very good service, have eaten in so called better places locally, and have never really felt like we have had value for money, and the most important thing for us as a family, is that the children are always made welcome.

To all the staff you are doing a really good job, keep up the good work, see you soon !

Have to agree with Jeremy. Not exactly fine dining, but my kids think it is the ultimate night out!! Food quite acceptable and good value for money and atmosphere always friendly and welcoming even to my active 5 year old!

We always enjoy our trips to the Hungry Horse!!

Have to agree with you there, it's never going to to make Egon Ronay but when you want tasty at a reasonable price (and price is a consideration if you are taking the kids and their friends along!) you have to go a long way to beat it.

I wonder if Weatherspoons opening in Petersfield will have an effect on trade?

I would have agreed totally a couple of months ago!
my husband and I used to go and eat at least once a week.
Recently we have noticed that the service has dropped. It seems to be when the landlord and landlady have their day off. The barstaff are rude and haven't got a welcoming smile for anyone. This evening 22/08/2010 we witnessed one of the bar staff being very obnoxious to a customer because she complained about waiting 20 minutes for a cup of tea. We couldn't believe the way she spoke to them. The bar or restaurant were not busy so there was no excuse really. I give all credit to the waitress who I believe is called Annette? She is friendly and caring to her customers.
Perhaps she should give the barstaff a crash course on manors!
