Gig In The Garden 2010
- Ben Lawrance (22nd Apr 2010 - 10:33:09)
Dear All,
This is not a post i hoped i would ever have to make, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
As most of you will know, i put on GITG every year (5 years running) and i hope everyone has a great night. However, the event which is now only 4 months away is in great danger from having to be cancelled. Our primary source of funding has decided to not be part of this years event, leaving the jar very empty.
Without beating around the bush, i need to secure £5000 to be able to make sure that GITG '10 goes ahead.
As a lot of you will know, neither my Company, or any of my team that work on GITG will make a profit, and every single penny is used to put on the event.
So, here i am, standing in front of you lot. Do we just fade into the darkness and allow GITG to be beaten by the few who didn't enjoy the FREE entertainment, or do we fight to save the 1 thing that actually pulls people together and raises money for Charity?
I can be contacted on 07790 264316 or ben@bcltechnical.co.uk should anyone wish to discuss this matter further with me.

Sainsburys:- This is the time to prove you are part of the local community and also to give you the opportunity to say thank-you to the people of Liphook for the support they have given over the last 13 years

Does the National Lottery provide grants for such events? Maybe worth applying.

Hi Ben
Can you give us all a breakdown of how that £5,000 is made up.
Between us all we might be able to mitigate alot of the real costs involved.
Otherwise it will potentially make less for the charities than it makes from donations on the day.
Alan
