Liphook United County Champions
- Michael (17th Apr 2010 - 02:30:46)
Congratulations to everyone involved in lasts nights Intermediate county cup final at Andover. A great 2-0 win against Netley saw Liphook lift the cup for the second time in three seasons. Cheered on by 250 villagers Kev Adair and his players made us proud of our village and football team. Where do they go from here?
Are there any other county champions in our mist? Please tell.

Liphook United beat Netley Central Sports 2-0 last night to win the Hampshire County Intermediate Cup for the second time in three years.
Well done to Kev Adair and all the players who have represented the team on the way to and in the final.
Liphook dominated the game and took the lead in the second half when a Netley defender under pressure put the ball past his own keeper. Liphook then killed the game off with a goal form Paul Marshall that would of graced any Premiership game, he met a pin point cross from Andy Luckhurst and after hanging in the air for what seemed like an eternity powered his header into the corner of the net past the despairing keeper.
On behald of Liphook United FC, I would like to thank the 250+ spectators both young and old who travelled to Andover to support the team on a truely memorable evening.
Thanks also to Forest Mere who opened their doors to Liphook United the evening before the game which I am sure helped relax the players in preperation for their big day.
Once again on behalf of Liphook United FC thank you to the community of Liphook who support the Football Club week in week out, and any newcomers will always receive a warm welcome at Liphook Rec.
Anyone wishing to purchase any LUFC leisurewear can purchase this from A3 Sports in the centre of the village who currently have a LUFC window display. We aim to have the County Cup on show at A3 Sports in the near future.

Fantastic result, fantastic night, everybody who lives in the village should be very proud of their football team.
There are some great people who work very hard behind the scene's who deserve a big pat on the back, you really do run a wonderful football club, which l am very proud to be part off !
Which take's me onto a young man called Kevin Adair, brilliant ,he should be given the Freedom Of The Village,
He has to make some very hard decision's,but he should hold his head up very high, and be very proud of what he has achieved, your a great manager Kevin.
Roll on next season!

Mr Sharman,
I do understand why you would want to give Kevin Adair freedom of the village, but i for one do not want to open my curtains and have the view ruined by a flock of sheep!
