Election Result - Nigel Newman (12th Mar 2010 - 12:06:08) Congratulations to Dr Judge and the electorate of Liphook. A positive result for somebody who is already an outstanding member of the community, who I believe will make an even greater contribution now she has been elected to the Parish Council. It is truely heartwarming, to see a positive and people orientated person elected to the Parish Council. As Parish Council Chairman, I look forward to welcoming her on board.

Re: Election Result - dave mcgrath (13th Mar 2010 - 18:26:01) whilst i have no objection in principal to dr judge's victory, as someone pointed out on another thread on this site, we had no fliers or election bumf from her or the man in grey in top end of haslemere road (queen street if you are a real local). Dawn Hoskins was the only candidate to give us a flier with her agenda.( thankyou Dawn) SO SHE GOT MY VOTE AS I DID AGREE WITH HER 'MANIFESTO'.

Dr Judge was the only candidate who did NOT make a single contribution here! The only publicity I ever saw of her campaign was the interview in the Herald; no doorstepping or flier. When I stand again, I'll make sure I get fliers printed as it's clear that many voters still want to see this traditional campaigning method.

Re: Election Result - Eneida (15th Mar 2010 - 10:05:56) Well Dr. Judge is my doctor and I've always found her to be an intelligent and charming person (as well as a good doctor)...I think anybody who's met her would think the same...So I've no quarrel with her becoming a Councillor, although I do wonder how she'll find the time to be an 'involved' member of the PC as well as a busy GP. That was one of the reasons I voted for Dawn. I was also disappointed that Dr. Judge was the only candidate not to post on this site....but I imagine Mr. Newman would have approved that decision as I've always got the impression that he regards most posters here as pestiferous troublemakers ;) Shame, really, as in the past I remember quite a few Councillors used to post regularly and didn't regard this site as 'the enemy'...I wonder why that attitude changed??

Many residents in Liphook and the surrounding areas don't use Talkback so were unaware of any candidate that did not campaign 'traditionally'. Using this site only is a bit of a gamble so if Dr Judge was unaware of its existance or chose not to use it I can't say I blame her! I apologise that I did not know you were the third candidate! I only dip in and out of this site periodically as some posts get so out of hand they wind me up!!!! Beside the point! Anyway, good luck in future if you decide to step back into the fray! Vicki
