survey
- Karen (26th Feb 2010 - 21:31:52)
Does anyone know what the outcome was of the Liphook survey that we all completed about a year and a half ago ?
[editor - yes, it's on their web site www.bramshottandliphook-pc.gov.uk/.... It has been reported that a number of comments were deleted from the final copy though, various threads on here mention that fact.]

Re: survey
- Editor (27th Feb 2010 - 11:42:23)
The survey was published in July 2009.
Could the council now comment on what actions they have taken in the last 8 months which can be directly attributed to the survey ?
Can they confirm what actions they have scheduled to be taken in the next 6 months, again directly attributed to the survey ?

i'd love to see a more open approach to the council - perhaps via a better laid out and more informative website. its the best way to keep in touch with everyone..... much like this fab site!

Yes, I agree.
I don't understand why the councillors cant use this site - it has always been a mystery to me.
If I get in I will pursue an approach which is more computer friendly!

The Village Appraisal or Suvey was carried out to facilitate the preparation of a "Parish Plan", a document which was first raised as a requirment of the Parish Council in April 2008.
As Chairman of the Village Appraisal Working Group, which produced the survey, I will be pleased to inform those interested how this relates to a Parish Plan. This was discussed in an earlier "Talk Back" item. (phone 01428 724903)
At the Parish Council meeting on 27th July 2009 it was decided
-...to approve the Village Survey Report and that it be placed on the Parish Council website and copies printed and held in the Parish Office and in Liphook Library for the public"
- that " The Chairman, (of the Parish Council), Cllr Aurtin-Olsen, Cllr Tough, Cllr Ms Poole and Cllr Evans were to prepare a draft Terms of reference for a Parish Plan Working Group to be considered by the Parish Council at their meeting of 28th September".
These were presented and approved at the PC meeting of the 28th September.
1. To facilitated the formation of the Parish Plan Steering Group as the organisation within the community which would guide and co-ordinate the preparation of the Bramshott & Liphook Parish Plan.
2. To propose the initial composition of Parish Plan Steering Group.
3. To identify areas that the Terms of Reference for the Parish Plan Steering Group might include
4.To recruit members of the Parish Plan Steering Group through publicity.
5. To arrange an open evening in the Millennium Centre to publicise the Parish Plan and to recruit members of the Parish Plan Steering Group.
6. To identify organsiations in the Parish community that could play a useful role in the preparation of the Parish Plan
7. This Parish Plan Working Group will disband when the Parish Plan Steering Group is established.
No further reports have been made to subsequent Parish Council meetings. Delay is explained as being due to other Council matters taking precedence on limited resource time.

thanks for the great reply Councillor Jordan! I've had quite a good look at the survey results online.
Can I just ask - if the survey came back as saying the community doesn't like/want more houses and development. Why are we having more houses at Silent Gardens?

Sadly neither the Parish Council or EHDC had any power in this matter (Silent Garden). The Inspector came from Bristol at Appeal and, as I understand it, enforced national government policy to build on a 'brown' field site.
