They were installed about 2 years ago. They are meant to be - courtesy - crossing points, as I understood the original plan. Problem is, as you point out, no-one is quite sure of their status. I know how often cars don't stop for me. Once or twice I've been halfway across and cars have just zoomed past me.
In a way they have made crossing more dangerous - as pedestrians assume cars will stop.
I don't know what the solution is - apart from proper Zebra crossings or traffic lights?
Annual Parish Council meeting is tonight at 8pm - why not raise the point during public session. I am going, so am happy to raise on your behalf if you can't make it.
