RSBP Guide to supporting wildlife
- Sumi Olson (9th Jan 2010 - 11:06:24)

The savage wintry weather is pushing Britain’s wildlife to the brink of a crisis, says the RSPB. To help wildlife struggle through potentially the greatest single wildlife killer of the new millennium, the Society is publishing a four-point plan to help the most vulnerable species.

We receive numerous enquiries about what and how to feed garden birds. Many of them relate to the best type of food to provide, or whether particular foods are suitable for birds or not. This page shows you what to feed your garden birds - and what to avoid. www.rspb.org.uk/advice/...

Many people put food out for birds, but fewer provide a regular supply of clean water.Birds need water for drinking and bathing. Water is particularly important during the winter when natural supplies may be frozen, and in dry, hot weather during the summer when water can be hard to find.

We've been feeding the ducks and birds since this whole snow affair started and have enjoyed seeing the variety of birds coming to the garden. Can I recommend Hiscocks for their good value seed mixes? I bought over almost 7kg for £8 and the birds have loved it.

Please don't forget the ducks when you walk in Radford Park!
