Walking back along Devils Lane towards Chiltley Lane yesterday (6th) after looking at the stranded train on the south line and admiring the snow scenary, we tripped over a large pile of bags of earth, soffit boarding, broken tiles and fragments that looked like asbestos, in the middle of the road. We wondered if the driver had braked hard and the bags etc had slid off the back of a lorry, but think they were probably just dumped. Covered by snow they could be quite a hazard as well as being unsightly. We moved them to the bank where they do look awful, but are easily accessible If the owner would like to come back to remove them.
