grit boxes

Somewhat belatedly, I would like to ask if anyone knows if there are any grit boxes in the village where a supply of grit for smaller roads etc can be drawn upon in times like these?

There used to be a grit box outside the main gate to the rec, on the London road, sometime ago, might be worth having a look.

I thought that the people who look after the road and pavements are repsonsible for providing grit. It might be worth phoning Hampshire County Council and East Hampshire District Council to see if they can help.
