Why do OAPS think that the law doesn't apply to them.

I have to say...most oap's are ok with the 'younger' generation as may have worked with kids or have grandchildren...?
BUT the other week I was in the little newsagents (next to the anchor) walked to the till stopped to get purse out to pay for my photocopy...and a oap walked next to me put her things on top and offered her £5 note...?
I of course out of respect let her do this and said nothing...
its the way I was brought up respect the 'older generation'
but on the other hand I have seen how some young people act, behave even talk around the oaps... they just don't care have no respect...
