Malthouse Meadows Dangerous Junction Parking
- Fed up resident (16th Jul 2015 - 18:30:39)

Week after week after week people are parking right next to the junction to attend football training in the recreation ground when there is a car park on the London Road side for this purpose!!

It is getting rather dangerous and beyond a joke now as it obstructs the view of the main road as well as making it very dangerous driving into the road as you either almost go into the back of the car parked or are forced to immediately drive to the opposite side of the road unaware of oncoming vehicles. Before anyone comments that perhaps we shouldn\'t drive so fast into the junction I enter it at about 15mph!

One week there were so many cars parked on both sides that the AMK bus that drives around the village to help the elderly could not fit down the road let alone an emergency services vehicle if need be.

If anybody knows what can be done about this as I'm sure it is not against the law necessarily but is part of the Highway Code please let me know as I am so fed up with it now!!

I agree totally they also park on our grass outside our property and obstruct our drive way making it dangerous to get in and out. Perhaps EHDC could make more parking available in the recreation ground.

I don't live in Malthouse any more, would a resident/number of residents be able to pressurise the local council into putting double yellow lines up there? I'm sure the residents would be happy to police it and send any evidence of illegal parking to the police who can force the council to issue parking tickets?
