Taking Sainsbury`s trolleys off site.
- Ruby (16th Jul 2015 - 11:42:26)

For those residents who live on the railway side of Liphook they must have noticed a small collection of supermarket trolleys parked in the front garden of one of the houses,(number [xx] Midhurst Road).

I have spoken about this to members of staff at the Liphook branch and also written to the head office(by email). Both assure me that something will be done and appreciated my notifying them of the unauthorised taking but so far it appears nothing has been done. I have often seen more than one trolley parked at this address and wonder to myself how long it will be before other residents in this crescent of houses will decide also to avail themselves of a convenient trolley.

It makes the village look untidy and there is a notice in the car park that trolleys must not be removed beyond the car park. How was it done, I wonder and why have I never seen the person who has taken these trolleys walking to the supermarket in daylight with trolley in hand?

I hope Sainsburys will deal with this; I have been told that they employ a private firm to collect and round -up these errant trolleys.

There will always be skanky lowlifes that think it is okay to remove trollies from the supermarket site and not return them. Happens all over the country, has been going on forever. Don't blame to supermarkets, blame the selfish individuals that think this is acceptable behaviour.

You might want to inform the housing association as this could be deemed antisocial behaviour and they could be in breach of their lease

It's a bit harsh calling them a skank and low life. I live on this estate and I often see this lady and her sons dragging a trolley load home. The family spend enough time in sainsburys so it wouldn't be to bad if they returned the trolleys instead of leaving them outside there home. It looks unsightly and gives the wrong impression of this estate.

The Skatepark has a trolley in various states of vandalism most days of every week since. The worst part is the demolition of a trolley over the ramps only happens when its dark and the skaters have gone thus keeping everyone within 300m up at night. Its no surprise the skatepark is falling apart as its being loudly battered with bare metal most nights a week and not the skate wheels or bmx wheels it was designed for !

I have taken a few back and called Sainsbury`s on 3 occasions and was told someone will pick it up for nothing to happen. On one occasion when I did return the last of the 3 and complained the lady in charge of checkouts told me they have a brand new system that grips the wheels of the trolley all around the edge of the car park so they cant take the trolley over them so the problem wont reoccur, stupidly I believed her story and walked away. Since then another 6 odd trolleys have arrived and been demolished by vandals at the Skatepark so I have checked all over the Sainbury's car park and not found a single 1ft strip of this stuff that locks the grooves in the wheels of the trolley, further more I have yet to see a trolley that has the grooves on the wheel.

Basically every time I talk to Sainsbury's about the trolleys am fed a line of lies to get me out of the store so the rest of the customers keep handing their cash over.

In short Sainsbury's don't give a s**t, the amount of trolleys they lose is already calculated into the money they take from your wallet. So you had better get used to them all over the street and being broken up at ASBO central AKA the skatepark after dark as nothing will change.
