Garlic Peer fit for an ... er... MP
- phil (10th Dec 2009 - 19:13:56)

£46 for a garlic peeler now, Mr. Arbuthnot?

What's actually more embarrassing is that you've been found to watch and buy from QVC ... ! The shame.

news.bbc.co.uk/...

[editor - "Tory MP James Arbuthnot claimed £43.56 for three "four piece garlic peelers" from shopping channel QVC." - obviously has 3 kitchens !]

Beat me to it! Just seen this myself and was going to start a thread! I’d love to see his Christmas Wish list if garlic peelers are anything to go by!

I'm glad he has time to watch QVC in-between chairing the Commons Defence Committee. Perhaps he could turn the TV off for 10 minutes and enlighten his constituents a bit more about his expenses antics as we haven't heard a peep from him on this website since the saga started.

Shame & Embarassment in the same sentence as the HONOURABLE MP Never!

Scallywags, rogues, bad eggs, naughty public schoolboys, high jinks and japes NO

Crooks, Con artists, Leeches, YES but worst of all watching the buying channel ..... unbelievable

Oh the irony. I have just listened to Mr Arbuthnott on BBC Radio 5 Live talking about the military budgets and the cutbacks which are required elsewhere to provide for the extra Chinooks announced today. I for one can think of £43.56 which could’ve gone towards the military. Yep, that’s your very own garlic peelers Mr Arbuthnott...

(If you're going to iPlayer it, it was on about 17:10 this evening)
