Liphook in Bloom : Local Competition
- Liphook in Bloom (6th Jul 2015 - 13:54:53)
Don't forget to enter our annual local competition which takes place next week. Last year we had a record number of entries and we've already had a big number for this year. There are many categories to choose from and you don't need an RHS landscaped masterpiece to stand a chance of winning.
The categories you can enter are :-
Front Garden
Back Garden
Containers and Hanging Baskets
Most Unusual Container
Residential Community
Shop Window
Retail Frontage
Pubs and Clubs
Even better, you can enter using the online application form at www.liphookinbloom.co.uk/competiton-2015
Go on, you know you want to ! Good luck to all of you who enter.

Does anybody know who is judging the competition this year, and more importantly, what are the judging criteria. Is it written down anywhere for us to see? Thank you.

We hold this annual event to have a local, informal, friendly competition which a) improves the look of our village and b) gives those people who create nice gardens and shop windows some fun and enjoyment out of their efforts.
We tend to have different judges every year (although we'd never avoid a person repeating their involvement) and for obvious reasons we select people from outside of Liphook to avoid any bias. Also, we don't publish their names beforehand but disclose them on our website when we publish the results.
As for judging criteria we provide some guidance as to what they could look for such as overall impact and the amount of effort, but we leave the overall decision to their own judgement as to the top 3 in each category.
We then have a different pair of judges who take a second look at the winner in each category to decide the "Best of the Best".
We look forward to another enjoyable event when the efforts of many individuals, including many businesses who decorate their shop windows and frontages, lift the look of our great village.

Although official closing date for entries was Thursday, it's not too late as you can still enter online at
www.liphookinbloom.co.uk or just email liphookinbloom@gmail.com until midnight on Friday.
