Liphook Railway Station
- Beth (3rd Jul 2015 - 09:53:03)

Last Thursday I needed to travel by train to Chichester. I should mention at this point I have a disability which means I struggle with walking and especially stairs.

The extremely kind lady at the ticket desk noticed my discomfort, and immediately left the office to assist me across the bridge, held the train for me, and handed me to the care of the Train Guard, who was ready at Havant to assist me with my bags, and directed me to my next train.

I didn't expect or request this level of service, but I would like to thank both members of staff and this level of care means I can now travel with fast more confidence. They surely went beyond standard service, and offered excellence.

With thanks

Beth

Lovely to read something good on talkback for a change. Great that you were assisted at the station and on the train etc.

Since Liphook Station lacks disabled access you can travel free by taxi to Haslemere Station provided you give SWT 24 hours notice and are able to get too and from the Station. Haslemere Station now has good disabled access with lifts.

Unfortunately the service is not very well advertised; we picked it up whilst researching for the Parish Plan. For more information on what level of disabled access is planned and what future proposals the community would like to see go to www.liphookplan.co.uk.

Beth -
If you got the staff members names, it would be really good to write into South West Trains and tell them- as they do get recognised and praised by bosses for great work. They can also sometimes be entered into prizes to recognise their great attitude and level of customer service.
Just a thought, if you haven't already done so.

I am very glad to hear of your great experience.
