Phone Reception Providers
- Steve (23rd Jun 2015 - 16:59:55)

Hi all
After falling out with T-Mobile / EE once again, I've just cancelled my contract with them. I was never that happy of reception in Liphook anyway.
I just wondered what o2 reception is like round here, I know previously there has been issues, but can't find anything that recent saying about problems in this area.
Especially as I read that Vodafone and O2 are now sharing masts since the end of 2012, are people getting good reception around the Liphook/Haslemere/Hindhead area?
I need the phone for work so calls are important, not too worried about data and internet.
Be good to hear if you are on Tesco Mobile or O2 and if your happy with reception.
Thanks

in my experience O2 and Vodafone both have good reception in Liphook.

O2 is awful for data (I could never get 3G) but Vodafone is great (4G).

If you only want it for phone calls then I would probably go for O2 as the signal is more reliable in more remote areas. Don't expect good data until you leave Liphook and go North or South on the A3.

I personally can't do without data so Vodafone was my choice - good enough signal and great data.

I have O2 and my husband has 3. Between us, he always has more signal or 3/4g. It's frequently Grprs only on O2.

It depends where you are in Liphook. I use Vodafone in Griggs Green but needed a Sure Signal booster from them to get 100% service around my house for myself and the family plus visitors who are all on Vodafone.
The main mast supporting several suppliers (O2, Vodafone + Orange) is on the top of Weaver Down so the closer you are to that, the better.

Hi.
Thanks for the replies, ordered my o2 phone, as it seems making calls will be fine, so fingers crossed I'll be good to keep in contact with people!!! Internet wasn't an issue as won't use it.
Thanks again
