Liphook Village Sports Day Saturday 4th July
- Liphook Village Sports Day (21st Jun 2015 - 22:05:21)
Some of you may have seen the front page of The Herald this last week announcing details of the upcoming Village Sports Day taking place on Saturday 4th July from 10am to 4pm.
This is to promote local sports clubs and facilities and give everyone the chance to have a go at a variety of sports for free.
The day will start at Bohunt School with the official opening being performed by our very own sprint queen and Paralympic bronze medalist Olivia Breen.
The sports taking part are athletics, badminton, basketball, gymnastics, hockey and netball at Bohunt School. At the recreation ground we have Liphook Football Club and both the bowls club and tennis club will also be throwing open their doors. At the Millennium Hall the table tennis club will be offering some tuition and the chance to try your hand. Old Thorns are offering the opportunity to take part in 3 different exercise classes, and Liphook Golf Club will also be open for some junior coaching sessions.
Minibuses will be running to and fro the various locations from Bohunt School. The event will close at 4.30pm with prizes being awarded to those who have taken part in the highest number of sports during the day.
There is a Facebook page where regular updates and news will be posted.

The event is being sponsored by Bramshott and Liphook Parish Council and East Hampshire District Council.
We really look forward to seeing you all on the day and our should be a lot of fun!

Having read about walking football, do we have it in Liphook. If not, would some one like to start it? I'm sure a lot of men over 50 would love it.

The leaflet that you will need in order to participate in the Sports Day is now in local shops and businesses which are displaying one of our yellow posters. A full list of participating shops will be posted later.
You can also pick up a leaflet from the Parish Office between 10am-1pm or from the Millennium Centre 9am-4pm.
Liphook Infants and Junior School children will each be getting a leaflet to take home in their school bag this week so please look out for it.
Bohunt students can pick one up from the reception office at the school.
The leaflet lists all the sports available, has instructions for what to do on the day and allows each club to mark when a sport has been completed in order to qualify for a prize.
There will be leaflets available on the day from 10am at Bohunt School.
Forecast is looking good for Saturday :)
