Stair Lift
- Barry Hope (24th Nov 2009 - 18:39:16)

Does anyone know where I might find a Stair Lift (Straight run) and maybe an installer as well.

Would appreciate any advice or help.

Barry

Hi Barry, I just googled and found these links – I think you need to get quotes etc. There may be high pressure sales involved in this area of sales – so maybe you should call when you have one of your burly sons with you!! Or just request a brochure on-line?

Also, my neighbour has one, so I'll ask her who installed it and where she got it from etc.

All the best – keep your chin up.

Thanks Dawn and Phil (and Russ) for your collective responses, they are very useful.

I have found one now and it is being delivered and installed on Thursday.

Thanks again guys.

Bu99er Barry. If had has seen this thread sooner, I could have been more helpful, and probably saved you a few grand.

We have 2 Acorn chair lifts (with two short bits of track - the stair was a 2-stage staircase). Immaculate condition.

They are incredible bits of engineering, and I keep wondering how I could convert the electrical engines into something useful - a kids garden car - or suchlike. Dad would have liked to see them go to that kind of good use (as a huge car buff).

However, if they can be used for the purpose they are intended, more than delighted to pass on to anyone that can benefit.

Cheers, Finchie

Hi Finchie

Many thanks for the thought, it was most appreciated. We were lucky to get one off ebay for £900 including delivery and installation. It works well and is in very good condition.

Thanks again for the consideration.
