Tombola prizes to help greyhound rescue - Allison Harding (4th Jun 2015 - 18:49:48) The Hampshire fundraisers for the Celia Cross Greyhound Trust are looking for donations for their tombola stall at the Alresford Agricultural Show on Saturday 5 September and it would be wonderful if you could help. Celia Cross aims to rescue and rehabilitate abandoned, sick and ill-treated greyhounds and lurchers (greyhound crosses) and to find them secure loving homes. It also works to raise awareness and the profile of the good nature of the breed and to promote responsible ownership. Celia Cross does not take money from the racing industry and depends on volunteers to raise funds. Every year, thousands of these wonderful dogs need to find their forever home because they have been abandoned, come to the end of their racing career through age, injury or failure to perform or for a variety of other reasons. There is a constant need to raise funds in order to save as many as possible and find them a loving home. If anyone has any unwanted gifts, toiletries, chocolates, sweets, toys, or anything which could go on a tombola stall it would be gratefully received however all items must be new or unused otherwise we will be unable to use.
