- Val Gaskin (27th Apr 2015 - 23:30:56)

The Liphook Heritage Centre volunteers are preparing an Exhibition featuring The Seven Thorns Hotel.
We would like to hear your memories surrounding this venue, with a view to recording some of them as part of our Oral History Project.
We are also hoping that you may have photographs , memorabilia etc. or video footage which you may be willing for us to use.

If you can help please contact us at www.liphookheritage@btconnect.org.uk, or call in any Monday & Friday between 10am & 2 pm or Wednesday afternoon between 2pm & 4 pm, Also this coming Saturday, 2nd May.

I wonder just how many people remember going there directly after the 1987 storm for egg and chips - as they were serving the only hot food in the area! (Or so we heard).

I worked at Seven Thorns from 1956 through to 1959 lots of memories but sadly no pictures

At the rear of the Spaniard there was a large black wooden shed which was used in the mid sixties by the original line up of Fleetwood Mac for practice before they became famous.

Does anyone remember Jacques Lestrade who I think used to own/manage it when it was The Spaniard. I used to work for him in the late 70's early 80's in Holmbury so I'm guessing he must have been there in the late 60's early 70's?
