Dairy free cakes
- Katie (24th Apr 2015 - 13:28:56)
Does anyone know of any cafes or bakeries locally who make dairy free cakes?
TIA.

I don't know of any bakers but I make my own dairy and wheat free victoria sponge mix because the 'free-from' cakes from supermarkets are horrendously expensive. I use Doves Farm gluten free self raising flour, one of the dairy free spreads, free range eggs, sugar and a couple of tablespoons of apple puree as this helps them to rise.
Sorry I am not offering to make the cakes - just suggesting a recipe!

Thanks, Jeanette. Shame you aren't offering to make me a cake! ;)
I am actually asking for a friend whose child has allergies. She does bake him lots of things, but was looking for somewhere she could take him for a treat, so she can grab a coffee.
Any ideas gratefully received. As is all cake!
Thanks.

I have same problem. Costa coffee shop in Petersfield is only place I found .
Have you asked in the coffee shop in Sainsbury's.
They sell dairy free goods in-store. So they may well have dairy free cakes and biscuits in their coffee shop. If not buy a coffee at Sainsbury's and pop in shop and buy dairy free cake to eat with coffee.
