Charity Walk.
- paul (11th Apr 2015 - 01:45:12)
Hi.
What would it take and or support to organise a charity local Liphook walk?
From earlier subjects and replies it sounds the village can’t allow fund raising events apart from the well known two supported.
There are many good local causes that need help are we allowed to join together or not?

No one said you could not organise anything? I am sure if you wish to raise money for something people would support you. One good cause I can think of is the community laundry service for the elderly. It is behind the Peak Centre in the Midhurst Rd Car park, and is run by volunteers.

to make it appeal to a lot of people you could do a 5k /10k distance with the option to run or walk. Most 5k's cost me about £10 - £15 to enter. There is a company who will do all the organising if it felt overwhelming, obviously they must charge a percentage of the entry fee to make their money.
There are lots of great places locally for 5k runs. It would be great if somewhere like Champneys, Old Thorns or Liphook Golf club or Bohunt Manor would agree to be the start/finish point and donate the bananas, biscuits water etc at the end!!
I am sure there are local businesses who could be approached to sponsor an event for the finish medal , insurances etc
I'd be up for helping (and running!!)
