Absent MP - Paul Robinson (18th Oct 2009 - 17:47:06) Although I am no lover of the Labour Party or indeed the current Lord Chancellor, Jack Straw, MP for Blackburn, I have to say that I was impressed to hear of his 'soap box' open air speeches to his constituency when he fielded questions on, among other things, MP's expenses and immigration, both hot topics at the moment. Whilst many, if not most of his parliamentary colleagues, have opted not to share a platform with Nick Griffin, leader of the British National Party, he has agreed to appear on this week's question time. If our local MP Mr Arbuthnot wishes to be re-elected at next year's general election then he should consider emerging from whatever fox hole he is currently occupying and start earning his salary...and expenses. Re: Absent MP - Rhys G (18th Oct 2009 - 18:36:11) Possible explanations for him not being around much recently and the lack of communication with his constituents; 1) He has been busy chopping some logs with the chainsaw we funded ready for the winter 2) He has hired a digger from Altis and is digging himself a moat Both plausible. (Yes Mr Abutthnot, I still haven’t found it in my heart to forgive you for your expenses claims.)
