Dog barking at midnight??
- Barbara (15th Oct 2009 - 13:07:22)

Did anyone else hear the dog barking non-stop between 11.40pm (well, that's when it woke me up) and 1.10am last night?

It's the second time it's happened (not every night, thank goodness, but a pain none the less!) and I'd just like to know why!

We live a few doors down from the vet's, so wondered if it's anything there, but would've thought if there were overnight patients there, there'd be someone looking after them to quieten it down a bit.

Not entirely sure what I could do about it if it happens again - police? Trace the barking (in my pyjamas - enough to scare anyone, with Hallowe'en not too far away!) and have a chat with owner? Call council?

Cheers!

Dogs bark at night when they smell animals eg fox outside, they would also bark if they heard a strange noise such as footsteps in the garden, perhaps there was an intruder? If the dog was kennelled at the vets, he may have barked because he was unhappy being left there without his/her owner. They sometimes bark to let owners know they need to go outside for their loo break.

Barbara,

Do you live on the Headley Road by any chance ??

I've been rather concerned about a certain dog...but don't want to say any more on here....

Eneida,
Yes, I do live on Headley Road, quite near to the vets, and the sound seemed to be coming from the Square direction. Does that help? (I suspect it just makes things more complicated!)

Barbara, if the barking is coming from the direction of The Square then it must be a different Dog in the Night....poor you though!!!
