Looking for a local written book
- Ronnie (28th Sep 2004 - 01:25:33)
I'm really interested in obtaining a book called:
"Conford" (from Domesday to Victoria) by author Mary Tyfield
ISBN 0 9511829 7 8
I understand she wrote it in association with Bramshott and Liphook Preservation Society.
Failing the acquisiton of this book I would be interested in the BOXALL family tree that is printed in it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I live in Canada.
Kindest regards
Ronnie

Try copying the following link to your address bar:
http://www.bookfinder4u.com/
IsbnSearch.aspx?isbn=0951182978&mode=direct
four suppliers have it listed for £2.50 but out of stock. They take orders though.

For anything like this (i.e. rare books, book searches), the local expert is Matthew Stevens, the MD of Wholly Books. You can contact him at his email address - matthew@whollybooks.co.uk.

Thank you to all who responded to my request. I now have a copy of this book. Paying a very large sum of money for it but still feel it was worth the purchase.

Glad to hear that you have found a copy of 'Conford' even though it cost you dearly. If any one else is interested there is a copy available on Amazon.co.uk for £2.50 plus £1.99 handling charge.
If it is the Boxall family you are interested in there are a number living in and around Liphook.
Good luck with your researches.

Bit much for Alex Cameron to be recommending some unheard of person as a source of information on books while overlooking our very own Paul Robinson. PR is ace at this stuff and has never failed to find anything I've ever wanted (in the book line at least) yet.

The book you ae looking for is available from Conford Village Hall Trust, as Mary Tyfield still lives in Conford and kindly passes the profits to the trust for the welfare of the hamlet.
There is an event on the 15th May and you will be able to aquire a copy and also the sequel if you wish, any time between 10.00am and 4.30pm at the village hall.
