I must confess that I've never felt the need to own a mobile phone...sad I know lol....but I did enjoy watching that programme.
Didn't Liphook look absolutely lovely in the film!!! Do we really have a Town Crier or was he a BBC actor? He did it very well and looked splendid too!!

I have lived in Liphook for all my life 35 years and I agree looked ok on TV a bit like it use to before the houses moved in :-)
Eneida, Terry Burns is the town crier has been for as long as I remember also lives within the village.
