hairdressers
- vicki (5th Oct 2009 - 21:41:16)

Please could anyone tell me what has happened to trevor the hairdresser in liphook? Who is taking it over and will it still be a hairdressers?

Re: hairdressers
- helen (6th Oct 2009 - 08:39:57)

Trevors is under renovation and will re-open 1st november. As far as i know it will still be a hairdressers.

Re: hairdressers
- Anne (6th Oct 2009 - 10:08:21)

Trevor is my hairdresser too and he told me that he closed the Liphook salon in August. He now just has T&G's in Bordon.

Re: hairdressers
- helen m (8th Oct 2009 - 20:15:12)

dont bother with trevor!!! go to escarda in station road! they are fab and still offering a half price on your first app. No, i dont work them but i did go to them for the first time about a month ago and was really really pleased!!!

Re: hairdressers
- Anne (9th Oct 2009 - 10:32:43)

I also tried Escada when they were offering the ½ price, first timer appointments. I usually have my hair cut every 10 weeks but the cut I got there was so unsatisfactory that I went to Trevor 2 weeks later to rectify it - and have stayed with him ever since.

Re: hairdressers
- Finchie (12th Oct 2009 - 06:38:37)

I like Yolanda's in the square. A new concept of turn up at any time !

Is it me or do we have too many hairdressers in Liphook. We should start reducing the number of hairdressing courses and substitute them for electrical/building/plumbing/carpentry courses - call me old fashioned !

And don't tell me it's a girl/boy thing. At least a female electrician/builder/plumber/carpenter would know how to leave your house nice and neat (and make their own tea !).

Cheers, Finchie

- Nikki (28th Oct 2009 - 09:39:09)

Trevor has been my Hairdresser for the past 12 years.
I would not let anybody else cut & style my hair.

He is the "Best Hairdresser in Town"

Re: hairdressers
- Eneida (16th Nov 2009 - 14:30:01)

Has anybody tried the new hairdressers? Are they anywhere near as good as Trevor??

Unfortunately I can't get to Bordon as I don't have a car :(

Re: hairdressers
- jack (25th Nov 2009 - 09:20:04)

myself and my wife visited the new salon last week, the customer service was fantastic and we will def go back for our hair to be cut.

Re: hairdressers
- Katy Clarke (26th Nov 2009 - 09:14:22)

Hi

I alos had a hair cut from hell from Escarda when it first opened and went back to Eden at Haslemere. Used the new hairdressers this week with some trepidation. Now called T&G and is still part owned by Trevor although he is concentrating on his other salon on Bordon.

Catherine cut my hair, very nice lady, friendly and eager to please. Book before 1st Dec and get 25% off. I will def. use them in the future.

Regards

Katy

Re: hairdressers
- Eneida (26th Nov 2009 - 11:27:17)

Well that sounds encouraging Katy!!

I'll try and book an appointment for next week....before I start to look too much like an eccentric bag lady :D

Re: hairdressers
- Diane (26th Nov 2009 - 16:35:03)

Catherine the new hairdresser at T & G is fantastic. I did not know how I wanted my hair and left it up to her. I am thrilled with the result. It will be Catherine for me in the future. I would recommend you give
T & G a try.

Re: hairdressers
- emma (27th Nov 2009 - 19:07:19)

I went to new hair salon, catherine is brilliant she is very friendly and bubbly the atmosphere in the salon is great i recommend it to everyone. I will definatly go there again x

Re: hairdressers
- dawn Evans (27th Nov 2009 - 22:21:14)

This Hairdressers thing is clearly becomming a circus!!! and i wonder who really writes these comments !!!! I think people should have to put their names to comments!!
I have to say i have tried both and although they both look the same (interior wise) I have to say Escarda on Station rd with out a doubt are both professional and better!! Gemma cut's my hair and i love it!! .... i believe Dawn designed the interor and should be flattered that T&G liked it so much they coppied it!!!
Well done Escarda a breath of fresh air for liphook and clearly always busy !!!
Dawn Evans from Bordon!!!

Re: hairdressers
- Colin (27th Nov 2009 - 23:54:15)

My partner and I have tried most of the salons in Liphook over the past few years and have to say that with out a doubt Escarda is the best around!

My wife was a loyal customer of Trevors but was let down on so many occasions, but continued to stay loyal but the last straw was him giving her a hacked hair cut, she was upset and yet still got charged!! .

Escarda had just opened and I heard their radio ad so booked Fiona a cut and blow dry and wow!!!!!! One happy wife !!

We both now go to Escarda and would definatey recommend them!! .. I have to add that my wife was called by the new Trevor?? T&G to inform us they are back under new management .. but still the same poor service!! And we did have a peek inside and have to take our hats off to Escarda because T&G obviously admire their style so much they copied their design !!! but I know who we would recommend!! Escarda !! def the best !!

Re: hairdressers
- Karin (28th Nov 2009 - 00:03:31)

My partner & I both go to Escarda hairdressers in Liphook. We started going there when they first opened up and would not consider changing hairdressers as we are both extremely happy about the quality of cuts and colour, surroundings, prices and offers and last but not least the great and welcoming atmosphere. :-)

Re: hairdressers
- Jacqui (30th Nov 2009 - 17:58:26)

I have just moved to the area. My sister already uses Escarda and she highly reccomended me to them. However, money is tight and as I'd received a piece of paper/flier through my door for a new salon called T & G offering money off I thought I'd go there and check it out for myself. However, I was so dissapointed with the service, I think that the discount was on the quality and not the price! It has ended up costing me more money rather than saving it, as I had to go and get it sorted out.

T&G
- Sophia C (30th Nov 2009 - 19:12:26)

I went to the new t&g salon, and am wondering if the "t" and "g" stands for something a little less! I am a student and decided to try them out as I saw their advertisement "blackboard" outside... I was extremely upset with my hair, I am 19 not 60, so i brought a £10 home dye and corrected it myself.... also I look forward to my hair regrowing, (she cut a too much when I asked for a trim)

I could not really even afford to go in there but wanted to treat myself, but I refuse to go back there to get it fixed... is there any other hair dressers I can trust not to ruin my hair?

DEVASTATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: hairdressers
- Eneida (1st Dec 2009 - 18:43:57)

Well...I tried out T&G today and I can report that both the hair do and the service were excellent!!!!!

So I thoroughly recommend the salon and wish Grace and her staff all the best for the future :)

- Louise North (2nd Dec 2009 - 08:46:03)

My husband and I have been using Escarda since it opened and have no complaints. We used to use one in Petersfield but started to find that it was getting more and more expensive for a cut that wasn't making you feel great when you left so we decided to change. Dawn and the team have always been friendly and very flexible in the times when we are available. Everyone's view about how they would like their hair done is completely different but the sign of a good hairdressers is for them to be able to interpret that and Dawn has always managed to do that for us so I would highly recommend Escarda

Louise :-)

Where is my comment it isnt shown on here ???????????

[editor - because it was not helpful and 'em' is not your name]

Re: hairdressers
- Eneida (2nd Dec 2009 - 12:25:48)

I don't understand why this thread, which the OP started by asking 'what was happening to Trevor's old shop' and I continued by asking 'if anyone had tried the new one (T&G)' has gone so completely off-course!!

Can't we just agree that there's enough room in Liphook for T&G and Escada and, in fact, 3 others too....so we're lucky to be spoilt for choice :)

But still no Chocolate Shop in the Square....why not?

Re: hairdressers
- Fiona Brooks (2nd Dec 2009 - 18:26:09)

I couldn't agree more!!!!

In these difficult times, lets support our local businesses and wish them good luck for the future.
Everyone is working so hard to make them a success so lets give them our support if we can. As you said, we are really lucky to have a choice in our village.

And also.....a chocolate shop sounds great to me!!!!

Re: hairdressers
- Sue W (2nd Dec 2009 - 20:41:24)

Well there is a great range of hand made chocolates available at Peep Inside in station Road....I know it is not the square - but just think of the extra chocolates you can buy when you burn the calories walking just that bit further!!

Re: hairdressers
- Dawn (2nd Dec 2009 - 23:10:02)

Peep Inside sell the best chocolates ever!

Well worth a visit

Re: hairdressers
- barbara (3rd Dec 2009 - 10:55:51)

In response to enieda, re chocolates, there was a small shop in Beacon hill which sold luxury handmade chocolates, but unfortunately I think this has ceased trading, as that is the first thing in a downturn that people will cut back on. A shop exclusively trading in that would have to be in a very upmarket area or busy high street such as Guildford, in order to afford the rent and business rates! I am looking forward to Christmas and visiting my sisters house, as her son has the specialist equipment and makes them himself, unfortunately they do not keep long dueto the fresh ingredients! That is another reason for not dealing exclusively as the fresh chocolated go stale. There is a good small shop in Guildford in one of the sides streets, off the high street but I have forgotten the name.

Re: hairdressers
- Eneida (3rd Dec 2009 - 14:58:42)

Hi Barbara,

Thank you for the info about the shop in Guildford...I'll have to look for it next time I go shopping there.

I have to disagree with you, however, about luxury chocolate being the first thing that people cut down on during a recession...quite the opposite happens, from all I've ever read!!

MMmmm yes,
That shop is fabulous. It’s called the Chocolate Alchemist. It’s down Swan Lane, which is about halfway up the hill.

l agree that all the bickering re; Hairdresser in Liphook should stop, l have been to many Hairdressers in my time in some l have had a good cut in others not so good but would never disclosed the ones where it was not to my satisfaction, l just choose not to visit again,as the lady said before these people are in need of our support, specially when we have a credit crunch going on, its hard enough for a business to suceed at the best of times, so lets all be a little more mature and understanding, give support instead of negitivity - l am also a newly qualified Hairdresser, so can understand it from all points of view. constructive critisium is better then negitive feed back

hi we went to a grand opening of The Salon in alton

enthsed about her new venture give a call 01420 88866

Re: hairdressers
- Sue (9th Mar 2010 - 18:49:59)

Dawn (Escada) is the best hairdresser I have found locally for MANY years - she actually takes time to talk to you, look at the shape of your face, discuss the colour of your skin and eyes to see what hair colour would suit you best and style, etc. Also, last time I was in there I was offered a glass of wine as well - great service and I am going to stay with her as over the years, I have had some hair disasters!!

Re: hairdressers
- Jaybee (10th Mar 2010 - 10:40:18)

I would suggest that you try The SALON Alton. I realise it is some distance to travel, but I can assure you that the experience is worth it. It is a newly opened salon owned by two experienced hairdressers (one comes from Liphook) They have a massive following of clients, so you might have to wait ten days or so for an appointment but give them a ring on
01 420 888 66 and check for yourself.

Re: hairdressers
- NIKKI (19th Mar 2010 - 08:28:17)

Trevor is back... He cut & styled my hair the best cut & style ever...
So if you want to look good and feel great then I suggest you make an appointment with Trevor at T & G in Bordon.
Why settle for second best...

T&G LIPHOOK
PHONED UP LAST WEEK TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH TREVOR FOR CUT N COLOUR WAS TOLD HE DOES NOT WORK THERE NOW? ANY IDEAS AS TO WHERE HE DOES WORK?

Re: hairdressers
- Anne (14th Oct 2010 - 13:57:17)

He still owns the salon but has given up actually being a hairdresser. There were many personal/political reasons and he felt it was time to leave.

Re: hairdressers
- CAROL (14th Oct 2010 - 15:08:59)

SO WHERE DO WE GO NOW TO GET A DECENT HAIRDRESSER?

Re: hairdressers
- Charley (15th Oct 2010 - 09:01:01)

Why not try Paradigm Hair Design in Weyhill. Its a brand new Salon run by Karen Clarke, who is a fantastic hairdresser. I am going to be in there in 4 weeks time running my beauty business, so please do pop in and see us!

Re: hairdressers

Re: hairdressers
- jaybee (18th Oct 2010 - 09:46:58)

Hi Dawn

There is a nail bar and a beauty room at The SALON Alton. You could get there in 20 minutes from Passfield

Give it a try

Re: hairdressers
- Michelle (19th Oct 2010 - 22:21:29)

I feel that having a good hairdressing experience is as much down to the client as the hairdresser!

If you don't have a clue what you want, what do you expect to get?

Recommendations should always be thought about carefully, as what one person thinks is acceptable another may regard as awful.

All of the salons in Liphook have different things to offer, different atmospheres and settings, so it is a lot to do with what suits you as a person.

Re: hairdressers
- Michelle (21st Mar 2011 - 09:35:55)

can anybody tell me what has happened to T&G Hairdressers in liphook?

Re: hairdressers
- kate (10th May 2012 - 11:41:29)

'In these difficult times, lets support our local businesses and wish them good luck for the future.'

On that note, and although off topic, in response to the above mention of local and female plumbers/heating engineers. My partner and I live in Bordon and run our own Heating and Plumbing business. He is a qualified Heating engineer and Gas safe registered and I (being the woman) am the organised one who manages the paperwork and assists on site as well. So if you wish to support local businesses, we are here... check out The Heating Works website.

I was looking for a good haircut (money is tight for us all, and I tried to cut my own... massive mistake!!) but am still no wiser as to where to go. Why do hairdressers insist on cutting in masses of layers so I end up with a haircut that looks great for the afternoon I walk out of the salon, but awful the minute I try to do anything to it myself....

Re: hairdressers
- Helen (10th May 2012 - 12:53:22)

Try Natty B's Hair Studio Chalet Hill Bordon, have had 2 cuts there and pleased with both of them 01428477300.

Re: hairdressers
- Chrissy (10th May 2012 - 13:03:41)

My vote goes to SALON 24 in Liss.

The girls there are very friendly, dont try push you into buying products just to bump up sales figures, (unlike others I have frequented) have a great customer relations ethic and are reasonably priced. Not to mention that the end results have always been, for me, FANTASTIC.

I always have Laura but the other stylists are equally talented.
