Gig in the garden, The Anchor, August 09 - Diana Forbes (2nd Oct 2009 - 09:01:23) This is an event I welcome in the village. It is the ONLY event of its kind held in Liphook. I live very nearby and was at home this year when it was on, yes, it is loud but it does not go on all night. In fact, it finishes by 11 on the dot. IT IS ONE SATURDAY NIGHT and CANNOT BELIEVE the intolerant attitude of others living around about who object to it. The youngsters need some focus here that is FOR THEM. It is only for ONE NIGHT and for charity. What are they supposed to do? Hang out on street corners with nothing to do? I think those who objected should hang their heads in shame, and stop harrassing those who are trying to do something POSITIVE for the youngsters.

Its one night only, yes one night... the Carnival is still able to happen?? look at all the noise its makes and the amount of people attending... The council should re look at those restirctions that they have put in place and think before they talk!! I have attending the Gig in the Garden and had a wonderful night.. everyone has a good time and there was people of all ages...
