co-op
- karen (18th Feb 2015 - 13:56:45)

Really am disgusted with co-op staff worker.

I do believe she is a supervisor! Been in liphook co op few times now and she is very rude with bad foul language while talking to a staff member or a customer.

Not very helpful and not pleasant at all with your child hearing swear language in your local shop. Me and my husband has complained about this situation.

Yes I have witnessed this as well. She has back chatted a customer which I never thought was nice.

Perhaps a letter to her boss would have been more appropriate than airing your complaint on this forum, As justified as your compliant may be is it really fair in any circumstances to single out an individual in this way. A general whinge about the co-op is probably justified but when individuals are singled out like this on a community website it is the thin edge of the web to trial by internet and a public lynching (not being literal here by the way)

Very true Ian. I might have gone further and considered a simple the human-to-human on the floor approach rather than going around to the boss. You think your helper was unhelpful? Kindly consider bravely confronting them fairly, tactfully and respectfully. See similar notions on the thread: Sainsburys

As for rude people, I have no patience for them! ;)

I agree, they are appalling in there. I am a regular shopper there (purely for convenience) and have witnessed MANY conversations regarding being pi**ed, someone pi**ing someone else off, a customer they don't like etc! I also find it incredibly rude that just because they're not at the till that day, they think it's ok to completely snub you! They are the most unprofessional staff I've seen working in such an establishment. They young girl with the very long hair, is the ONLY one with manners. She'll go far.

Why do people choose to completely destroy somebodies character and reputation on an open forum?

What has happened to complaining directly to the person concerned or their superiors?

Have we become such an intolerant society that we are able to do this without the blink of an eye or a thought for personal feelings?

I shop in the coop on a regular basis and have always found the staff to be very good. This despite having to contend with some extremely rude customers who talk to them as if they were either stupid or second class citizens.
In fact I was in there the other day when a customer was so rude to the girl on the till it was embarrassing. She held her tongue but other customers didn't.

I pop in to the Co-op two or three times a week and find the staff efficient and pleasant.

- jo herridge (20th Feb 2015 - 18:05:30)

my other half lee used to work there and he was always complimented on his manners and customer service. Politeness goes a very long way when working with the public

Must say I am mystified by the post.

I go in the coop three or four times a week.

My feeling are that the staff are always terrific.

Re: co-op
- claire (21st Feb 2015 - 06:40:59)

I have raised this to a young man in there who is always so attentive to customer needs (Ross??) (I also agree about the skills of the long haired young lady who works mainly in the evening.

I think the trouble is simply a lack of staff development and monitoring of the staff. If you employ 18 year olds and give them little mentoring and guidance don't be astonished when they act like 18 year olds!

great staff on the whole, just need managing for their own development.

Re: co-op
- suzanne titcomb (21st Feb 2015 - 08:40:43)

the good old days when we were served by staff pleasant such as Joy Passingham and Mrs. Beaumont who were polite and willing to help, they enjoyed their work even if Joy was handicaped always willing to help, now service very bad everywhere for the staff to put them selves out is too much

Re: co-op
- roschelle (21st Feb 2015 - 16:47:01)

I have also been treated badly by staff in this store I suggest you make all complaints to southern coop head office at Portsmouth as any complaints made to the liphook store do not go any further as they seem to disappear

Re: co-op
- Anon (21st Feb 2015 - 20:29:45)

Are you the Roschelle who threatened to urinate on the shop floor & then verbally abused the staff?
Maybe worth mentioning that when putting in your complaint .

Re: co-op
- roschelle (21st Feb 2015 - 22:39:43)

I did not threaten to urinate on the premises I was heavily pregnant and simply ask to use the toilet which they are ment to allow I will not get into a discussion about my personal matters and bladder weakness on here it has nothing to do with this feed and as for abusing members of their staff I think being walked out on heavily pregnant warrants me being allowed to enter my unborn child's fathers workplace for an explanation

Re: co-op
- karen (21st Feb 2015 - 22:48:42)

I just find it really rude that i have noticed the manager and the supervisor back chat customers and other members of staff in the shop. It is not pleasant to hear every time you go to shop. I have no problem with the staff that work behind the tills and the ones that actually work its just them two. I remember lee he was actually the good one at co op that would put a smile on your face :) i have complained to the manager but she seemed to be no help but yes that is what i will do is to complain to the head of them all thanks guys for all your opinions. :)

Re: co-op
- Donna (22nd Feb 2015 - 09:44:13)

I often use this shop and post office and while I have never been on the receiving end, I have over heard the staff back chatting and gossiping about people too.

Gone are the days when Mark would carry a sack of potatoes to my Nans house for her or Mr Clarke would chat to you and know your name (that's as at back in history I can go)

It's incredibly unprofessional but if the management are not setting a good example, what do you expect??

Re: co-op
- h (22nd Feb 2015 - 14:58:37)

I use this store on a regular basis just for convenience mainly. But I have heard the utter rudeness used by staff members. It is not nice when you walk into a shop and hear staff members talking about other shop users in an inappropriate manor. If you are going to discuss your shop users doing out the back not on the main shop floor

Re: co-op
- K (22nd Feb 2015 - 20:09:28)

I like the way this anon person has proved that the coop are to busy gossiping then working because how would you know this about this Roschelle? either your an employee or you have been told by an employee. just shows really that they need a new mature manger in my opinion
