IPAD but no WIFI in house.
- Angela (1st Feb 2015 - 19:28:57)
Does anyone know if it's possible to use an IPad if there's no Broadband or WIFI in the house ?
Is it possible to have an Ipad on a monthly contract that will also cover the WIFI so that it's possible to use the Internet ?
Any answers would be very welcome as its for my Aunt who is nearly 87.
| | Hi, my 88 year old mum has had an ipad for 6 months and loves it. But we installed broadband / wifi for her. Although you can get ipads with 3G/4G the cost of the monthly contract and poor performance will make the broadband option the best to go for. |

I second that,
3g/4g iPads have a costly monthly contract with a small by comparison to broadband data limit, the 3g/4g signal in this area also isnt great.
Depending on your house location (not too far out of town) the speeds offered by a basic broadband (not fibre) should be enough.

Hi Angela
You might also consider asking any of her neighbours if they would consider sharing their broadband? She would not be downloading hardly anything so would not increase any charges for them,
I work in Farnham and many of my elderly customers tap into a neighbours router often by supplying the odd bottle of wine to say thank you?
Worth asking if you can access any other signals whilst in her house.
Good luck
