Pope Family Development plans for Headley Road
- peter (31st Jan 2015 - 15:05:43)

I would like to urge everyone to look at the Bohunt Manor thread, especially entries on 30th Jan and 31st Jan and be vigilant about any tree works being carried out by the Pope family or their developer friends, Tim Vincent of Vincent Homes or their contractors, Chalice consultancy.

This could be the thin edge of the wedge to fill the Pope family land with more houses that none of us around here want.

Works on trees here could be the precursor to wholesale felling to get a road in on this dangerous angled road.

We should stop all development in Liphook

People have to realise that the population is increasing thereby needing, not wanting but needing, an increase in housing. Nobody wants their quaint little village that they may have grown up in to be turned into a bustling town but it's going to happen and no amount of not here thank you is going to change that.

I grew up in Liphook as did my partner and we both have close family in or very close to Liphook. We'd love to be able to move back to the place we grew up in for a lot of reasons but can't because there's nothing available that we wouldn't need a lottery win to afford. This isn't just about Liphook btw, this is applicable all over the country, certainly more so the south.

Good point that Julie makes!

To be perfectly honest, Liphook stopped being a 'quaint little village' a very long time ago.

The best I can hope for is that finally some money might be given to improving the train station, it certainly needs it, not least of which for those with walking difficulties/in wheelchairs etc., to be able to easily travel from BOTH sides of the tracks.

I do wonder how this tiny station is going to cope with the influx of people that the additional housing in the area is bringing and Chiltley WILL get planning, just a matter of when, the local council have enormous pressure from government to deliver the need in the area.

Hi I agree we need houses but I have not noticed the new houses being built in the area being cheap, quite the reverse. When one considers the lack of space inside and outside, just take a look at the prices at Maple Park, not cheap! I think building cheap houses will fuel another economic disaster has everyone fogotten 2008? all it needs is for interest rates to go up a a few points then repossession will be the sign up on the new houses, not for sale boards!

A reminder ......... there are 2400+ houses planned for Bordon. How many more do we need in the area?!! Plus I believe Liphook has already met its required numbers with Silent Garden etc. etc.
