Parish Council Spending - More Payouts!
- Kat (22nd Jan 2015 - 13:41:34)

This was put under another thread about Xmas lights by "Anon" when someone said that the council could have paid for new lights.

I fear that this argument will rumble on and on until the current Council agree to publish a fully redacted copy of the investigative report and disciplinary report that had to be drawn up in order to deal with this issue.

There can be no transparency without publication. If fully anonymised then no person can be identified, so it breaches no data protection or privacy rules, and also, as a public authority spending your taxes you should be entitled to see what you paid for. Then you can see what horrors the previous council got up to and what the present council had to do to rectify it.

Especially as elections draw near, there will be mud thrown in every direction and every topic, even unrelated like this one, will have barbed comments in them.

Without publication, how can you know who to vote for?

I suggest "Anon" that you write to the council and ask them how much they have paid out for all the staff they have got rid of since they were elected in 2011. Don't need the reports to know what they have spent, they should just tell us or we should be able to find it in the accounts.

From a subsequent post it looks as though they have just paid out more taxpayers money to a lady at the Liphook Millennium Hall! You can ask how much that was, which people are saying around Liphook was some sort of settlement from a botched employment process.

At least the last council told us when this sort of thing happened. This supposedly open, honest and transparent lot haven't. Another example of a behind closed doors secret meeting decision by councillors, to completely bury the spending!

And they complain about the last council. In my mind they are far worse. Thank you to the person on this website, whoever you are, for letting us all know.

Regarding Council spending, in May/June 2011 two flashing speeds signs were purchased at a cost of approximately £10,000 (according to Barbara Easton.) To my knowledge they haven't been seen for two years and no one can tell me why.

Since November 12 I have been asking for information regarding the departure of the former Parish Clerk and each time I have been told that this information is not available Why?

So Kat, just what is your personal motivation behind all of these Council stories? What is your link with the Herald Group and how much are GVI paying you to post all this guff?
Looking at all of your posts on talkback they ALL seem to amount to Parish Council bashing coupled with support for the Bohunt Manor scheme, along of course with sticking up for the Herald group when they were accused of biased reporting over it.
