old thorns flood lights
- paul (13th Jan 2015 - 14:06:53)

I have noticed that old thorns as put up new flood light on the back of one off the bars looking out onto golf course was not their before Christmas

I think its to bright it lights up sky and big area is this light pollution or not. when the area used to be dark place. its like been next to a football ground at night 24/7

do you need planning to put up big flood lights? now we can see more lights now as cut down lots of trees looks like they like cutting trees down

Unlikely for a one off flood light that it needs planning permission. If it is mounted onto their building then almost certainly it was done without any consent... If it is on a column then they should of made an application if over a certain height (can't remember the height limit)

Well worth pointing out to Old Thorns directly that it is causing problems as they will only ever see the benefits of the flood light due to the fact they are standing behind it - you however are in front...

Suggest to them they change it to an asymmetrical flood light which is a cheap solution and will keep it under control by pushing the light downwards instead of forward and at you... good luck...
