MISSING 6 month old black cat
- Glynis Wheeler-Hayden (25th Dec 2014 - 08:19:56)
Our 6 month old all black male kitten went missing all day yesterday - Christmas Eve. We live in Manorfields in the houses that front onto the Haslemere Road. Has anyone heard of any kitten being hit?? I should have phoned all vets yesterday but kept thinking he'd just turn up! Obviously now I can't phone around - so am relying on the good people of Liphook to let me know if there has been any incident they are aware of??? He has just had his "op" but unfortunately isn't chipped. His sister is distraught so any help very gratefully received please. Thank you.

Hi Glynis,
I'm very sorry to say on Tuesday 23rd we found a black cat at the side of Haslemere Road just up from Manor Fields. We took it to the vets in Headley Road to check for a chip, we tried to follow up with them yesterday but they were closed.
We didn't want to post the bad news on here and spoil someone's Christmas. We are so sorry if this is your kitten.

Diane Thank you so very much for the info. I managed to speak to most vets yesterday (or their out of hours services) and was told they had no record of any black cats being brought in. But thanks to you I will follow this up tomorrow and try to find out if it's my boy. Thank you so very much for letting me know and thank you for being so caring to take him to a vet. Bless you for the posting. G

We took him to Woodlands vets on Headley Road between 9.45 and 10 am on Tues. The receptionist took details of where we found him. I do hope you find him, and if the one we took to the vets is yours I am very sorry for the loss of your pet.

Unfortunately it was our little boy cat! He still had a small bald patch on his front leg from where he was operated on (to not be a full man!) about three weeks ago. Many thanks again Diane for your help and very sad news - such a short life - such a shame. The vets have assured me his death was almost certainly instant - shame the person who hit him was probably going way too fast, as is so often the case in Liphook, and possibly didn't even realise they had hit him! Thank you again so much - shows there are really good, caring people in Liphook!!! Glynis

Hi,
Sorry to hear about your cat. I too live in manor fields and I have a black cat of 6 months old and he has been missing for a number of weeks now. I had hoped he has just found someone who had started to feed him and he has decided to stay. He is also chipped but have had no call from anyone so I am hoping he is still local. My number is 07738 168360

Hi Jo, Are you the lady who had the two black kittens a little older than my boy? I suggest you ring around all the vets - a bit easier now they're all open again and try the RSPCA too - lady called Delia on 01428604499. Do so hope you find him. The only way I managed to identify my boy was that he had been "done" a few weeks earlier and still had the patch on his front leg from the op. The fact that yours was chipped gives you a little more hope of finding yours. Good Luck. Glynis
