Flower and Vegetable Show - Saturday, 2pm
- Freddie Dawkins (6th Sep 2004 - 22:07:42)
The Autumn Show of the Bramshott, Liphook and District Horticultural Society, will be held this coming Saturday, September 11. Venue is the Church Centre (off Portsmouth Road) and there will be signs appearing around the village in the next couple of days to publicise the show. Starts at 2pm.
There will be competition displays of flowers, fruit and vegetables plus floral art, cookery and children's classes of competition.
There will be refreshments, home-made produce to buy and a raffle. Entrance to the show is free.
Our Society is the second oldest in the world and has more than 160 members. Most are keen amateur gardeners but their age and experience varies widely.
If you fancy an enjoyable hour, looking at some of the competition entries or just fancy browsing around, having a cup of tea and a home made cake, then please come along. Many of the members will be present and will be pleased to chat and offer advice on gardening problems or just chat about their hobby and swap experiences.
rgds to all here.

And a quick update if you fancy popping in on Saturday afternoon: Lesley Holland and some of the other ladies on the organising committee have spent a few creative hours in their kitchens this week and will be serving some of their favourite recipe cakes from the kitchen. I can vouch for them - as my waistline proves!!

And thx to everyone who turned up and enjoyed the Show. I hear there were some great exhibits of flowers and veg, and I also hear that Ian Haussauer did very well on the prize front (again!). Well done, Ian and all the others - sorry I could not be there - but I did get some signs up around the village - and thx to Susan and John for organising the making and delivery of the signs to me.If you would like to know more about the Society and how to get involved, call Fred Simmons (number on the pages for Cloubs and Societies (see Community list to the left of this).
