Milk bottle caps
- sarah (7th Dec 2014 - 10:42:03)
We have been collecting plastic milk carton lids as a lady at my husband's work was collecting them for a charity. She has moved jobs, but out of habit we have carried on collecting them!
Does anybody locally collect these for charity or know of a charity that collects them please as I would prefer them to go to a good cause rather than in the bin!
Many thanks!

Hi Sarah,
I think a colleague at my work is also collecting. Can I ask her and get back to you because I know she would appreciate them.
Are you in Liphook?
Thanks
Sarah

Hi
If they are still available, my sister collects these, to gives them to an animal charity, that "cashes" them in for animal feed!
I would be willing to collect!
Kind regards
Gina

I have always collected bottle tops for charity - and still do. I discovered all you need to know back in the spring! You should Google "recycling bottle tops". You will then discover www.ghsrecyclingltd.co.uk where you will find it all very clearly explained. So many charities have given up collecting them but they keep a running total on account for a few charities. Read all about it!
I found all this out when my grandchildren's school in London collected hundreds for an outdoor artwork. As I used to hand mine on to someone who collected I said I would take them for the hospice when it was dismantled. The hospice had stopped collecting! To cut a long story short, I collected 5 black dustbin bags full, plus a few more of mine, took them to GHS in Portsmouth and the charity I chose made £2.30p from that lot!! They did say however that small amounts do add up and the charities remain very grateful.
I still collect mine out of habit, but would love to have someone to hand them on to from time to time.
