LAMPS - A Christmas Carol
- Art Woodhouse (5th Dec 2014 - 23:43:26)

I like to congratulate LAMPS for putting on a brilliant show tonight (Friday). We thoroughly enjoyed it, well done.

Sorry to disagree with this comment, we thought it a very drab affair. Surely these sort of Christmas shows are put on with children in mind? this was totally unsuitable for children, very scary for the young in places, and as I said before, so drab.

Hi. We are looking for an understudy for scrooge and guess what.... we choose you.... You are in a minority i am pleased to say. i hope the cast, particularly the younger ones, do not catch your comments before the last show tomorrow at 2.30pm (tickets on the door, millenium hall). Their hard work, dedication and enjoyment dont deserve this.

For the record, we take feedback well and appreciate honesty but this is poorly timed and potentially damaging to the show in ticket sales... bah humbug our new friend... bah humbug x

"Fantastic well done everyone" you all worked together to produce a great show. I thoroughly enjoyed it. There's tickets available for tomorrow's show, it really is very good.

Wendy Scrooge, I can't believe you were there on Friday.. It was our first visit to a LAMPS show and we thought it was great. The whole cast
and audience (except you) were obviously enjoying it and we were not the only ones singing along and clapping. Why you would write such a sad note is beyond me, as my mum taught us, if you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything. Like Rob, I only hope those in the show take absolutely no notice of your spiteful remarks. Cast, you were all great, we had a lovely night. We would have been happy to take our grandchildren 6 - 16 if they lived near here.
People of Liphook - if you have some free time tomorrow, go and see it for yourselves and have a happy couple of hours.

Hi Art - meant to say thanks for your kind words and glad you enjoyed the show.

wendy, if you are referring to the zombies we did in fact perform the dance several times with costume and FULL make up in the liphook carnival and won a trophy for it (best on the move) . I only saw happy faces on the children as they left. I understand we are not perfect but this isn't the west end and you aren't paying £55 for a ticket.

Everyone else please feel free to come and see us tomorrow and see for yourself how hard we have worked on making it one of our best shows yet! xx

dear oh dear, whatever happened to everyone is allowed an opinion? I used to act in plays/pantomimes, and we were always glad to be criticised, it wasn't suitable for young children, and it was drab

I think it is unfair to keep posting, Wendy, it will affect ticket sales. There is a very dark side to the Scrooge story, it was never written as a comedy after all was it! I recently went to see the Producers at Haslemere Hall, and have not liked previous productions by the same ameteur company, but that was brilliant so you never can tell, and sometimes ameteurs just love to perform and as the previous person said it is not west end prices!

Its an old saying but in this case very valid, IF YOU GOT NOTHING NICE TO SAY, SAY NOTHING.

Shame on you Wendy, this is not Time Out, it's a community website and whilst you are free to have an opinion, most of us learnt when we were very young that sometimes it is best to keep you opinions to yourself, especially when they are likely to cause upset and hurt.

Your post makes me think of an unpleasant child that when given a Christmas present they don't like tells the giver regardless of the thought that went into the gift

Wendy, I'm very sorry you didn't enjoy our performance and thank you to everyone else for your lovely comments, we've had a lot of fun for the last few months rehearsing but your support keeps us going.

We are now planning our Spring and next Christmas's show and would love to hear what kind of theater you would like to see? Shakespeare?
More pantos?
A Musical?

Time to book in for those pantos by other groups in the community now. Break a leg!

You may have been missed off the programme as Choreographer Jasmine but you stamped your name on the production. Well done.
