Boiler Service - Mills (4th Dec 2014 - 18:27:04) Hi we are looking for someone to service our boiler we recently moved to our house so not sure when it was last done. We'd be grateful for reliable recommendations -many thanks

Re: Boiler Service - Worried (5th Dec 2014 - 07:27:26) We had AW Ball come to service our boiler. He said there was a problem with the shut off valve, and disconnected the boiler altogether. He went off giving us no idea what would be happening next, just saying he sub-contracted to AW Ball, and it was up to them what happened next. We had a bill for £66 for this. As we were in the lurch with no water/heating at this point we got someone else to come and have a look and fix. He was here for an hour and said he couldn't see what the problem was with the valve and reconnected us. He charged us £40. A couple of days later a got an expensive quote to repair the non-existant problem. Perhaps we were just unlucky! The other chap who came was Chris Pooley from Lynchmere, I can't lay my hands on his number at the mo. I shall repost if I find it.

Re: Boiler Service - bdavies (5th Dec 2014 - 07:59:28) I agree about British Gas. If you have a contract with them they will also carry out a yearly service as part of that. The monthly cost is not desperate. I wouldn't buy my gas/electricity from them though.
