Plumber to install a soft water system - Claire Paye (1st Dec 2014 - 10:19:28) Hello. We're moving to Liphook on Thursday. Does anyone know of a plumber who knows about soft water systems? We're bringing ours with us and we need someone to install it.

Re: Plumber to install a soft water system - Jan (1st Dec 2014 - 13:55:25) Trust me, the water is not soft, you only have to look in anyone's kettle or iron. Some areas are worse than others. Since moving down South 12 years ago, we have always used a filter for drinking water/boiling the kettle and use in the iron, as it not only tastes different, it shows in the elements. We also use a softener for the washing machine fill. My brother lives just outside Farnham and they have a house water filter system under their sink , it's really easy to fit, he did it himself. The master plan is to regularly change the filters. Northern softies, I know :-)

Water is quite hard around these parts. You can get a before / after test kit and when we ran our tests, on a scale of 1-12 we were a 9. With the softener we are now a 1.
