Royal Anchor Carpark
- Russell (30th Nov 2014  09:51:19)

This is just a polite notice to those that use the end part of our carpark furthest from the pub that as of tonight (Sunday 30/11) we will be blocking it off so that it is clear for an event that will take place on Tuesday 2/11. There is a silver Peugeot people carrier with the license plate SE05 JJF that is parked where there will be a lorry as of Monday night and it has been there for 4 or 5 weeks so if anyone has any idea who owns it if they could contact them or us that would be great. After the event on Tuesday the end carpark will be open again as usual for patrons of the pub. If anyone requires any more information please reply to this thread or call the pub on 01428 722244.

SE05JJF is NOT showing as insured on the Motor Insurance Database today.

This FREE service has been designed specifically for motorists to use from their mobile to check the insurance details of the other parties involved in a road traffic accident at the roadside.

So no tax and no insurance.
sounds like it has been dumped to me?

It's not all yours to block off the council paid for the car park years ago when major coyte was on the council, somewhere I still have the newspaper cutting of the event, it was agreed the council would pay, so the car park could be used for shoppers in the day & for the pub at night

Thank you for your help. I will contact the EHDC.

I am going back 40 or more years it was done by the Liphook council. Sometime after the old annex was knocked down, and the new entrance was put in.

I\'m confused: is the Anchor car park private property or public property?

Re: Royal Anchor Carpark
- Steve (1st Dec 2014  07:38:05)

The small side car park is what the council paid for not the main one, the pub at the time had problems with parking so the council done a deal. The public could use the side car park during the day, and it would be free for the pub use at night

AskMID appears to be FREE to search your own vehicle. You appear to need to PAY £4.00 for a search on another vehicle that is not yours

I have been here 7 years and in that time any overgrown trees or abandoned cars have been left for us to sort out. The council have recently sent letters demanding us to remove the branches growing over the pavement on Longmore road. If it was a council owned public car park surely at some point they would have contributed to the up keep?

Re: Royal Anchor Carpark
- S (1st Dec 2014  13:40:14)

Does it really matter if it is partly council-owned or not for this issue?

The rest of the car park will still be available for use, and the Anchor are clearly not militant about people parking in any part of the car park for longer lengths of time since recently 2 cars have been left there for months without any consequences.

If it is only closed for one day for an event then it\'s not actually affecting anyone either, even it is was totally council owned then it still shouldn\'t be an issue to support local business by allowing them to close it for one day for an event - and as pointed out, they have maintained the upkeep of the car park for years on end, surely no one can begrudge them one day of closure.

Ask the Motor Insurance Bureau

www.askmid.com is a free road side service. that is according to the blurb and the video clip.

The askMID Roadside service has been launched to help accident victims check insurance at the roadside from their mobile phone.

This FREE service has been designed specifically for motorists to use from their mobile to check the insurance details of the other parties involved in a road traffic accident at the roadside. View the video below for more information or read the Press Release.
