Lost Antique Walking Stick
- Dollypops (29th Nov 2014 - 13:16:02)
My husband left a walking stick in Sainsburys this week. It's like a malacca cane with a silver band around the top.
It is of great sentimental value as it was given to my Grandfather in 1901 for his 21st birthday. Please, please, if you know of its whereabouts, (or perhaps see someone else using it!), let me know on 01420 474440

Hi did you ask at customer service? I believe I saw a stick behind the counter on Thursday. Only saw it from passing but im sure it had a band of silver on the top. Good luck in finding it.

Yes, we did contact them. We'll try again as they know us quite well; you've given me a bit of hope. You can't remember which till, by any chance...it might be noted on your receipt?

I saw it behind the main customer service point. It was leaning against the side of the desk on the left hand side (coffee shop side) hope that helps

Thanks, K - we found it exactly where you said it was! Can you believe we had telephoned Sainsburys and they said it was not there and they supposedly asked the various till operators. I cannot believe they did not ask the Customer Services Desk where you saw it and where it was in full view.
I can't tell you how pleased we are to have it back; without K's input we would probably have given up! I've told my husband he must not take it shopping again!
Once again, this site comes up trumps :)
