Meeting with Constituents
- Nick (23rd May 2009 - 19:13:55)

As we know that you read this website, James Arbuthnot, would you let us know where and when you will be meeting your constituents to explain your conduct relating to expenses and your future Parliamentary intentions. The honourable member for Bracknell grasped the mettle and I am sure you will wish to do the same.

If I have missed the information detailing this I am sorry but I look forward to your reply.

Yes James - I think that this would be a good idea.

The silence regarding this thread is deafening!

I note that Jeremy Hunt (Conservative) is giving an open meeting to his constiuents, but then he would would'nt he. For some time now he has been an almost lone voice in campaigning for a change to the current expences system that encourages MPs to plunder tax payers money.

Talking of silences . . . when are we to hear from the revenue with regard to those MPs including Hazel Blears who have knowingly dodged paying capital gains tax?

As a self employed person I have to sign off my annual tax return declaring that it is a true record of my finances. This surely applies to MPs and Cabinet Ministers as well.

If I defraud the HMRC I can expect a fine up to the value of the sum in question and on top of that compound interest on the years this sum has been outstanding.
